Sports Coverage Dominates Friday Issue Of USA Today

Sports coverage dominates USA Today, as today’s issue devotes 28 out of 48 total pages to sports. In addition to its regular sports section, it continues with its section focused on the Sochi Games as well as an eight-page NASCAR season preview. As part of the advertising in the sections, UFC is running a full-page ad touting Saturday night’s UFC 170 PPV event at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay being headlined by the Ronda Rousey-Sara McCann bout. Coca-Cola runs a full-page ad congratulating U.S. skier Ted Ligety for winning the Gold Medal for giant slalom at the Sochi Games (THE DAILY).
