IOC To Remind Athletes Not To Protest During Sochi Games

The IOC Exec Board this week is expected to approve a letter to Olympic athletes "reminding them to refrain from demonstrations or political gestures" during the Sochi Games, "including any protests against Russia's law banning gay 'propaganda.'" The letter "will then be sent to the national Olympic committees that are sending athletes" to Sochi in February. Also scheduled for tomorrow's meeting in Lausanne is a "ceremonial handover of the keys" to the IOC HQs from former President Jacques Rogge to Thomas Bach (AP, 12/9).
