Vikings Stadium Lease, Other Agreements Slated For Approval
The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority today is expected to approve partnership agreements for the new Vikings stadium, "allowing construction to begin late next month." The agreements include a 30-year lease and a development deal for the "design and construction process over the next three years." The lease is "expected to include four five-year extension options, which, if maximized, could bind the Vikings to the stadium for 50 years." Also to be approved today are parameters of a "stadium builders licenses" program, similar to PSLs (ST. PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 10/3).
