L.A. County supervisors yesterday unanimously voted to urge the USOC to bring the ’24 Games to the area and directed county officials to “cooperate with a Southern California committee that is bidding to host the competition” (L.A. TIMES, 9/18).

Caesars Interactive Entertainment and partner 888 this week will launch online poker in Nevada "following the relaxation of a ban on Internet gambling." Nevada is "one of a number of tax-hungry American states that have eased the online ban imposed by Congress" in '06 (REUTERS, 9/18).

Boxing judge C.J. Ross has "excused herself from working fights for the immediate future in the wake of her controversial scoring decision" in Saturday night's Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Canelo Alvarez bout. Ross was the only judge to score the bout as a draw (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 9/18).

A crowd of 20,071 last night attended the Red Wings-Blackhawks preseason game at United Center (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 9/18).
