Record Seahawks Crowd Sets New Mark For Stadium Noise

Seahawks fans at CenturyLink Field last night "set the record for stadium noise" at 131.9 decibels during the home team's 29-3 defeat of the 49ers with 1:15 left in the first quarter as Seahawks DE Michael Bennett sacked 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick. The record, verified by Guinness judge Phil Robertson, broke the previous mark of 131.76 set by a soccer crowd in Istanbul. The record fell again during a goal-line stand in the third quarter, which registered at 136.6 (SEATTLE TIMES, 9/16). The crowd of 68,338 was the "largest for a Seahawks game at CenturyLink Field" to date (AP, 9/15).
