Source: Indianapolis Will Announce Bid To Host Super Bowl In '18
A source said that the city of Indianapolis today will announce that it plans to bid for Super Bowl LII in '18, with political leaders and Colts Owner Jim Irsay expected to make the announcement at Lucas Oil Stadium. The NFL's deadline for cities to submit a letter of intent is midnight tonight. Indianapolis "likely will face strong competition from New Orleans," and Denver "also has announced it will bid" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 8/30). Dallas, Miami, Minneapolis and Tampa also are "believed to have a strong interest" (IBJ.com, 8/29).
