Goodell Announces NFL-Pop Warner Partnership Via USATODAY.com

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell co-bylines a piece on USATODAY.com announcing the launch of a "partnership between the NFL and Pop Warner to endorse USA Football's Heads Up Football program." Goodell writes, "More than 20,000 Pop Warner coaches will be trained to teach the latest techniques and make the game safer for hundreds of thousands of young players. ... More than 200 Pop Warner leagues will adopt Heads Up Football immediately, and hundreds of additional leagues will follow suit in 2014." The Heads Up program "provides a better, safer way to teach and play the game" (USATODAY.com, 8/1).

Goodell is at Browns camp today in Barea, Ohio, to unveil further details of the partnership and take part in a Heads Up Football clinic (CLEVELAND.com, 7/29).
