WNBA Mercury Rolling Out New Mobile Ticketing Application
The WNBA Mercury today are introducing a new mobile ticketing application that will allow fans to buy tickets via their mobile phones beginning with this Sunday’s game against the Lynx at U.S. Airways Center. The app was developed in a partnership with Ticketmaster. The Mercury are the first WNBA team to use this technology. Mercury President & CEO Amber Cox: “We want to make it as easy as possible for fans to make purchases.”
To use the app, fans must have a Ticketmaster account. After downloading the app, they can purchase tickets and have them electronically delivered to their phones. The app will serve as a test case for the Suns, who would roll out the same ticketing technology for next season, team officials said.
