ESPN The Magazine is “celebrating its 15th anniversary this week with ‘Mag 15.’” This week’s issue has special features including “Kobe Bryant: The Movie,” a 20-page screenplay “written by nine veteran Hollywood scribes” (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 4/28).

OneUp Games, a Florida-based developer of second-screen sports applications, has acquired Lucid Appeal, a California fan engagement outfit that developed official mobile applications for the Lakers and Clippers (Eric Fisher, Staff Writer).

A three-day total of 111,284 spectators attended this past weekend’s Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia (AP, 4/27).

About 3,500 triathletes took part in Sunday’s St. Anthony’s 30th annual triathlon in St. Petersburg, Fla., “the first event of the World Triathlon Corp.’s 5150 Triathlon Series” (TAMPA BAY TIMES, 4/29).

Belk is running an ad in today’s Charlotte Observer featuring golfer Webb Simpson and promoting an Izod Golf promotion at South Park Mall in Charlotte. Simpson will attempt a $100,000 shot for charity and the first 125 customers to spend $125 on Izod products will receive an autographed Simpson photo (THE DAILY).
