ESPN Expands Coverage Plans For '13 NCAA Baseball Tournament
ESPN today will announce plans to increase its NCAA baseball tournament coverage for the '13 event, which starts May 31. The net will carry "every game from all 16 regional sites" in the first round, up from six sites last year, with coverage of up to 112 first-round games. ESPN last year was positioned "to cover as many as 83 games in the entire tournament," whereas this year it "could end up with 153 – every game." The net also will roll out a Bases Loaded channel for whip-around coverage, airing on ESPN3 "for about 37 hours during the four-day first round" (USA TODAY, 4/29).
