Ticket Demand For The Masters Resembles That Of '97 Tournament
A "perfect storm" is brewing in The Masters ticket market that "could result in the highest prices paid for the major in 16 years." Amid Tiger Woods' "re-emergence" and the tournament's "close proximity to the Final Four," badges were going for more than $7,000 on the resale market yesterday. The "lowest asking price" yesterday morning on StubHub for a four-day badge was $10,001. Tickets for today's practice round, with a face value of $50, "are now selling for nearly $1,000." Premiere Global Sports Exec VP Scott Jernigan: "It's the first time I've seen prices at this level since 1997" (ESPN.com, 4/8).
