Laugh Track....Warming Glow

Knicks F Carmelo Anthony appeared on NBC’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” last night, and host Jimmy Fallon said the Knicks “are killing it this year.” Anthony: “It's good to have the energy back in New York.” Anthony said he is “excited” about the All-Star Game this year but added, “It's not really a break for me because we have to participate and do so much stuff, but (it’s) for the fans. And to have all the All-Stars there, all the celebrities, that whole weekend, it's a big deal.” Fallon noted Anthony is “throwing a party” with P Diddy during All-Star weekend and said, “I'm going to tell you right now, don't do it.” Anthony: “That's going to be interesting … and it's the night before the game.” Anthony: “We gonna make it do what it do” (“Late Night With Jimmy Fallon,” NBC, 2/11).

NBC’s Jay Leno: “What a storm they had back east? My home state of Massachusetts got hit the hardest. It was so cold in Foxboro people were actually gathering around Bill Belichick just to feel the warmth. … Folks, here is a shocker: The Pope is resigning. I guess he took that Notre Dame loss to Alabama a lot harder than people thought. The Pope said he was stepping down at age 85 because he could no longer handle the job physically, to which Lance Armstrong said, ‘I got some stuff that can help you.’ … It’s now being revealed that a famous British author who published 22 romance novels under the name Jessica Blair is in fact an 89 year old man, to which Manti Te’o said, ‘I got fooled again!’” (“The Tonight Show,” NBC, 2/11).

CBS’ David Letterman: “I’m kind of excited because on the show tonight we have ten beautiful Sports Illustrated supermodels. And before the show I addressed the supermodels as I do with all our guests, kind of a little primer on how to behave in front of the camera, and I said, ‘You know ladies, you're all so beautiful and if you think about it this way, one day, one of you might be lucky enough to be kissing some fat little dumpy kid in the Super Bowl. … Pope Benedict is quitting. … He said he just doesn’t have the energy to be Pope anymore and somebody said, ‘Well, what are you doing?’ He said he tried the antler spray and that didn’t work” (“Late Show,” CBS, 2/11).
