MLBAM To Develop Version Of At Bat App For Blackberry 10 OS

MLBAM today will announce it intends to develop a version of its MLB.com At Bat mobile application for the new Blackberry 10 mobile operating system, to be released in time for Opening Day. MLBAM has worked with Research In Motion, Blackberry's maker, for years, but those devices have lagged well behind those operating on the Apple iOS and Google Android platforms in features and user interfaces, and RIM's market share among mobile consumers in turn has plummeted. The Blackberry 10 system, set to be formally unveiled next week, aims to reverse that with a new, more multimedia-friendly platform.
