NFLPA To Decide On Inquiry Of Redskins' Handling Of RGIII Injury
The NFLPA is "expected to decide soon," possibly today, "whether to demand a formal investigation" of the Redskins' handling of QB Robert Griffin III's knee injury under the CBA. If a formal inquiry is initiated, "two or more independent physicians would be chosen" to investigate. A source said that the NFLPA's "focus is whether the Redskins followed the recommendations of their medical staff." The union yesterday also issued a public plea for the team to "improve the quality of the playing surface at FedEx Field" (WASHINGTON POST, 1/11).
