Chargers, Raiders Home Games Will Be Blacked Out This Sunday
The Chargers "didn't sell enough tickets" for Sunday's home game against the Bengals to avoid a local TV blackout, "and it wasn't particularly close." The team yesterday announced that nearly 11,000 tickets remained for the game, "far beyond what they needed to move." This marks the eighth blackout in the Chargers' last 16 afternoon games (PROFOOTBALLTALK.com, 11/29).
The Raiders' "struggles on the field have taken their toll on ticket sales," as Sunday's home game against the Browns will not be shown on local TV. This marks the first blackout for the Raiders in 14 games, dating back to a loss to the Colts on Dec. 26, 2010 (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 11/30).
