Richmond Takes Steps Toward Redskins Training Camp Deal

The Richmond City Council yesterday advanced several measures that "will make up the meat of the city's complex deal" to bring the Redskins' training camp to town, but did not pass an "up-or-down recommendation." The city plans a $9M facility to be built over the next seven months on state property, with Bon Secours Virginia Health System also using the site for a "sports medicine and men's health facility." The city administration "wants the bulk of the deal approved" in 10 days (RICHMOND TIMES-DISPATCH, 11/16).
