Jim Bell Will Leave "Today" Show For Position At NBC Sports

"Today" show Exec Producer Jim Bell will leave the NBC morning show to "become the full-time executive producer of NBCUniversal’s Olympics coverage," reporting to NBC Sports Group Chair, Mark Lazarus, a spokesperson confirmed. NBC News exec Alexandra Wallace "and a producer yet to be selected will succeed" Bell at "Today" (NYTIMES.com, 11/12). It is "unclear exactly when Bell will exit" the morning show. Bell counts former NBC Sports Chair Dick Ebersol "among his mentors at NBC" (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 11/12).
