Instant Replay Is Central Topic At Annual MLB GM Meetings

The MLB GM meetings, which begin today in Indian Wells, Calif., could "create some buzz, with instant replay likely to be a significant issue this week." Also, new compensation rules enacted by the CBA signed last year "might create more free-agent activity than usual at this point of the off-season." Other topics such as "pitcher safety, a possible worldwide draft and the World Baseball Classic are also likely to be discussed" (N.Y. TIMES, 11/7). The meetings are "considered the start to the Hot Stove season," though GMs "actually have been stoking the embers for weeks" (SPORTINGNEWS.com, 11/6).
