Dynamo Playoff Attendance Strong Despite Texans Playing Nearby

BBVA Compass Stadium on Sunday afternoon drew 20,689 fans for the first MLS playoff game at the venue, which featured the opening leg of the Sporting KC-Dynamo MLS Eastern Conference Semifinals (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 11/5). That figure is below the venue's normal capacity and under the team’s regular-season average of 21,015 (THE DAILY). The game went up against Bills-Texans “a couple of miles down the road” at Reliant Stadium (SI.com, 11/4).

Meanwhile, a sellout crowd of 27,000 on Sunday night attended the first leg of the Earthquakes-Galaxy MLS Western Conference Semifinals at Home Depot Center (SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, 11/5).
