NHL Allowed Team GMs To Answer Players' Questions About CBA Offer
NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly told reporters last night that team GMs were given a 48-hour window last weekend to answer questions from their team's players about the CBA offer presented by the owners to the NHLPA last week. The union was surprised and disappointed with the league's end-around. "Most owners are not allowed to attend bargaining meetings," NHLPA Special Council Steve Fehr wrote in an e-mail. "No owners are allowed to speak to the media about the bargaining. Interesting that they are secretly unleashed to talk to the players about the meetings the players can attend but the owners cannot."
