Mickelson Goes Long On "Chip4Charity" Promotion, Still Raises $50,000

Golfer Phil Mickelson "overshot the big money targets on his 100-yard shot" as part of the "KPMG Chip4Charity" promotion during halftime of last night's Broncos-Chargers "MNF" game at Qualcomm Stadium. Mickelson, who still raised $50,000 for nonprofit First Book, was met with "a mixture of boos and cheers" when his shot ran long. Mickelson said of the experience: "The 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale has nothing on this. This was awesome, seeing the Jumbotron with my picture, as I'm looking up taking the shot, that was unique. That was something that was pretty cool" (AP, 10/15).
