Dolphins Receive Blackout Extension; Colts Sell Out Home Game

The Dolphins received an extension of the 72-hour blackout rule until 1:00pm ET today to sell “several thousand tickets” for Sunday’s home game against the Jets. The Dolphins have had 110 consecutive regular-season games on local TV since a '98 game against the Rams. The team and its broadcast partners and sponsors last year “purchased thousands of tickets for the majority of home games to get them on the air” (South Florida SUN-SENTINEL, 9/21).

Meanwhile, the Colts have sold out Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, which will be televised in the local markets. The team currently has an 81-game sellout streak (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 9/21). The Raiders have sold out Sunday's game against the Steelers, marking "the 10th straight regular-season home game that sold out in advance" of the blackout deadline (CONTRACOSTATIMES.com, 9/20).
