CFL Blue Bombers new logo pays homage
to team's four Grey Cup championships
Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson and NBA Kings co-Owner George Maloof spoke again yesterday morning and "have decided to meet in person within the next few days in what will likely be a make-or-break session" regarding plans for a new arena (SACRAMENTO BEE, 4/25).

Sperry Top-Sider has signed a four-year deal to serve as title sponsor of the U.S. Sailing Team, a span that includes two Olympic Games. Sperry also will "continue its role as footwear sponsor for the team" (AP, 4/24).

The London Olympic torch, created by U.K.-based Barber Osgerby, has won the Design Museum's Design of the Year Award (FINANCIAL TIMES, 4/25).

The CFL Winnipeg Blue Bombers unveiled a new logo and helmet design "with an eye to the past," bringing back the capital "W" that adorned the team's helmets when they won the Grey Cup in '62, '84, '88 and '90 (GLOBE & MAIL, 4/25).

Speed and the ACO announced a North American media rights deal that keeps the 24 Hours of Le Mans race on the motorsports-focused TV outlet, where it has been since '96. The new deal includes expanded digital rights (Speed).

A sellout crowd of 47,085 attended yesterday's Yankees-Rangers game in Arlington, in which Rangers P Yu Darvish "turned in his best performance as a major-leaguer." Darvish, going against fellow Japanese starter Hiroki Kuroda, helped his club to a 2-0 win (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 4/24).
