McCourts Have Until This Morning To Reach Divorce Settlement

Dodgers Owner Frank McCourt and his ex-wife Jamie McCourt have until this morning to reach a divorce settlement, or L.A. Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon said that he would "declare the negotiations at impasse." A settlement "would likely leave Frank McCourt in control of the Dodgers, at least temporarily." Gordon "initially declared an impasse" late yesterday, at the end of the last of four scheduled mediation sessions. Gordon, after a "brief meting with both attorneys," agreed to give the parties "one last chance to settle." Jamie's attorney Dennis Wasser said, "I think we are close" (L.A. TIMES, 6/17).
