BFGoodrich Launches Ad Campaign Around Shaun White

Shaun White is jumping behind the wheel of a car in support of a new partnership the Olympic snowboarder signed with BFGoodrich. The tire manufacturer last night announced an endorsement deal with White and will use him to promote its new sponsorship of the Winter X Games, which begin today in Aspen. White will be featured in a series of webisodes that show him learning to drive and drift cars from BFGoodrich's team of professional drivers. He also will be showcased in BFGoodrich advertising during ESPN's X Games coverage. White's other portfolio of partners includes Red Bull, Burton, Target and Ubisoft (Tripp Mickle, SportsBusiness Journal).

Meanwhile, female fashion brand Roxy announced a multiyear renewal of its sponsorship deal with snowboarder Torah Bright. The six-year agreement is "thought to be worth more than US$1 million annually." It includes "head-to-toe" apparel sponsorship and expansion of Roxy's Bright Edition line of snowboard gear (SPORTSPROMEDIA.com, 1/27).
