Devils, HBSE Launch Youth Foundation To Grow Hockey Diversity

The Devils and parent organization Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment are launching the Devils Youth Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization designed to support youth and diversity across hockey, education, music and sports. Allison Blitzer, wife of co-Managing Partner David Blitzer, will serve as the foundation’s chair. A formal announcement will come later this afternoon. The newly-formed organization will combine all of the fundraising events, charity initiatives and local programs, among others, from both the Devils and Prudential Center under one umbrella. For example, Devils legend and current Exec VP/Business Development Martin Brodeur will have his charity golf invitational now fall within the foundation’s signature events. Other fundraising initiatives for organizations throughout Newark and the entire state will include online auctions and 50/50 raffles at Devils games.

DROPPING THE PUCK: To kick off the launch of the Devils' new fundraising arm and the start of the season, the foundation will host an online auction beginning today -- Jan. 24. Some of the items to bid on include a cigar-themed experience with former Devils player Ken Daneyko, which will include a 45-minute private video chat with the winning bidder and five friends as well as a cigar package. Additionally, bidders have an opportunity to compete against F Jack Hughes, D Ty Smith and the team mascot on "NHL 21."
