Kellogg's Extends Sun Bowl Title Sponsorship To '23

Despite the cancellation of this year’s Sun Bowl, Kellogg’s has "extended its contract" as title sponsor of the game one additional year, according to Cindy Ramirez of EL PASO INC. The original contract was for two years, '19-20, with a two-year extension to '22. That has "now been extended" to '23. Sun Bowl Association Exec Dir Bernie Olivas said, “It’s like this year never happened.” Ramirez noted though it is keeping its corporate sponsor, the Sun Bowl Association "stands to lose money from other revenue sources due to the coronavirus pandemic and the economic loss its created." The bowl’s major revenue sources include "the corporate sponsorship, ticket sales, TV rights and a car rental tax." Olivas said that he "didn’t have a breakdown of the other revenue sources, and a dollar amount from the Kellogg’s sponsorship hasn’t been disclosed." He added that the "total impact of this year’s cancellation, paired with other pandemic-related financial losses, won’t immediately be known." Ramirez noted for now, the Sun Bowl Association staff is "already working on the 2021 game" (ELPASOINC.com, 12/25).

Two custom football helmets will be signed by coaches and players and delivered to Dallas-area hospitalsGoodyear Cotton Bowl Classic

STAYING COMMITTED: The Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, its title sponsor and participating teams Florida and Oklahoma will continue the game's history of honoring Dallas-area healthcare workers and pediatric patients, but with a new twist. With the tradition of visiting Scottish Rite for Children and Children’s Health before gameday off-limits this year due to the pandemic, the effort will instead go virtual, with AT&T Stadium’s video board featuring a tribute to frontline workers and pediatric patients. Also, two custom football helmets -- each featuring the respective hospital’s logo -- will be signed by coaches and player captains and delivered to the hospital after tomorrow night's game. Goodyear will make separate $10,000 donations to each hospital (THE DAILY).
