Denver-based KUSA-NBC's Mike Klis reported the civil lawsuit filed by the two oldest daughters of late Broncos Owner Pat Bowlen that "contests their father's mental capacity at the time his final trust was executed has been re-scheduled for July 12, 2021 in Arapahoe County Court." Judge John Scipione has "set aside five weeks for the trial," which had "initially been set to begin Sept. 1, 2020 but was delayed because parties agreed the trial could not be conducted in-person in light of Colorado's COVID-19 restrictions and Judge Scipione did not feel comfortable using WebX technology" (9NEWS.com, 11/30).

TOUGH TIMES: The Ducks yesterday announced "coronavirus-related furloughs and layoffs" impacting nearly 15% of "full-time staff members of the NHL team, its AHL affiliate in San Diego as well as Honda Center, The Rinks, including Great Park Ice, and ocVIBE, the planned development near the Anaheim arena." In California, Elliott Teaford notes furloughed employees "received a discretionary payment and maintained their medical benefits." In June, Ducks Owners Henry and Susan Samueli said that they "would cut the salaries of some full-time employees of the Ducks, San Diego Gulls, Honda Center and other ventures by 20 to 25 percent for a six-month period" (ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, 12/2). 

LOCAL LOVE: In Las Vegas, Rochelle Richards reports the Raiders and the Raiders Foundation yesterday "launched a grant program to help local nonprofit organizations." The Community Investment Grant Program is an "initiative dedicated to helping local nonprofit organizations receive the funding they need for their community projects." Funding for the program "comes from the Raiders License Plate Program" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 12/2).
