The Athletic Survey: CBS Clinches Most Preferred Net For NFL Games

In The Athletic's second '20 NFL broadcast survey taken by over 3,500 respondents, CBS "drew the top spot" for most preferred network for games with 41.6% of the vote, followed by NBC at 32% and Fox at 21.2%, according to Richard Deitsch of THE ATHLETIC. Even though ESPN drew the lowest number when it came to preferred network, the new "Monday Night Football" booth of Steve Levy, Brian Griese and Louis Riddick "was a winner" in the survey. Of the respondents, 61% said that they "liked the new team" versus 39% "against." Among favorite top announcing teams, the CBS duo of Jim Nantz and Tony Romo "led the way, as it did" in The Athletic's preseason survey in June. Nantz and Romo drew 49.3% of the vote, "followed by NBC's Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth" at 25.6%. Meanwhile, "Fox NFL Sunday" has been the "most-watched NFL pregame show for a quarter-century," and it led the category with 31.6% of the vote. NBC's "Football Night in America" finished second at 23% (THEATHLETIC.com, 11/30).
