Franchise Notes

In N.Y., Ken Belson noted the Cowboys' five home games this season have drawn a total of 128,750 fans, "by far the most of any NFL team and nearly 20 percent of the entire league's reported attendance." The team counted 30,048 fans at AT&T Stadium on Thursday, and Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones "plans to keep selling tickets even as the number of coronavirus infections surges in Tarrant County." But Jones’ approach "runs counter not just to what other NFL teams have done in recent weeks, but to what medical experts say is prudent" (N.Y. TIMES, 11/27).

WELCOME TO BASEBALL: In N.Y., Deesha Thosar noted Mets Owner Steve Cohen was "met with push back on filling his president of baseball operations position -- he didn't expect the kind of resistance that eventually led the Mets to pivot." Cohen on Wednesday said, "I'm a little surprised we haven’t been able to find people for the front office. I thought it would be a little easier than it's been. Baseball is kind of funny where you have to ask for permission." Cohen said of free-agency targets, "We're having conversations with everyone that matters, anybody that the fans are excited by. And hopefully something happens, but I'm not going to predict it" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 11/27).
