Executive Transactions

The Washington Football Team named Covington & Burling lawyer DAMON JONES as the team’s new General Counsel, the latest senior hire under team President JASON WRIGHT. Prior to Wright joining the franchise, the team’s General Counsel role had been filled for 17 seasons by ERIC SCHAFFER, who left in January. WILL RAWSON was promoted to replace Schaffer. Wright has named five new senior execs since starting in August (Ben Fischer, Staff Writer)....The Brewers promoted Assistant GM MATT ARNOLD to GM. His promotion officially separates the GM role from President of Baseball Operations DAVID STEARNS, who had held both titles since January '19 (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 11/20)....Crowd intelligence software company Armored Things named Venuetize VP/Business Development CHRIS DILL to the same position. In his new role, Dill will help the company expand its presence and adoption in sports and entertainment venues, retail, corporate campuses and university settings, with a focus on safe reopenings, security management, fan experience and revenue optimization (Armored Things).
