LeBron Expands Investment Portfolio With Lobos 1707 Tequila

New tequila and mezcal brand Lobos 1707 launched yesterday and is "co-led in investment" by Mezorio Spirits, Torch Capital and Main Street Advisors, a group that includes LeBron James, his business partner Maverick Carter and some other NBAers, according to Rawiya Kameir of the WALL STREET JOURNAL. The investment "makes James, previously known as more of a oenophile, a major player in tequila’s raging bull market." James had been "nurturing an interest in tequila when he was introduced to Lobos 1707’s founder," actor and entrepreneur Diego Osorio. The Lobos launch also "plays on the power of James’s positive reputation." A survey this year of American voters, conducted in part by MRC Data, found James to be "among the most trusted public figures on matters of politics and social issues" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 11/19).
