Dallas-Based Hotel Takes Oilers To Court Over Unpaid Bills

The Crescent Court Hotel has been the Oilers' "hotel of choice in Dallas for years," but they recently "took the team to court" because the Oilers owe $28,000 for a stay last December and another $27,000 for a stop in early March, according to Robert Tychkowski of the EDMONTON JOURNAL. It is a "highly unusual situation that doesn't look good on the organization." The Oilers said that they "weren't trying to skip out on the charges and there is no dispute over them." They said that the issue is the "result of an embarrassing accounting glitch that was further compounded by a timeline miscommunication," and they "plan on paying the bills and having the entire issue resolved in the next couple of days." The Oilers yesterday afternoon issued a statement saying that "payment and follow-up requests got lost in the fog of COVID-19" (EDMONTON JOURNAL, 11/17).
