GM First Automaker Committing To Run Super Bowl LV Ads

GM is “poised to advertise in the Super Bowl for the second straight year,” according to sources cited by Schultz & Poggi of AD AGE. The automaker did not disclose its plans for the game, though it is “expected to air one ad featuring its new Hummer electric vehicle and one ad for another one of its brands.” GM has been “backing the Hummer with significant ad buys in a strategy meant to signal its dedication to the EV market.” It began building buzz with an ad last February in the Super Bowl LIV broadcast featuring LeBron James. That marked the "first time GM had run a Super Bowl ad" since '17 (ADAGE.com, 11/12).
