Fox' Kenny Albert To Call N.J. High School Football Game

Fox broadcaster Kenny Albert has "volunteered to handle play-by-play duties" on the live stream of a N.J. high school football game tomorrow night, according to Darren Cooper of the Bergen RECORD. Albert, who currently has a daughter at Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest, said that he had been "receiving emails about the school’s livestream showings of different sports." So he told NV/Demarest AD Greg Butler that if there were "ever a Thursday night football game, he’d be happy to lend his voice." Cooper notes what "originally started as bit of a joke became serious," and the opportunity "arose this week as COVID-19 continues to shuffle schedules around and the Norsemen were given a Thursday slot." Butler said, “He’s treating this like any other game. It’s going to be good.” Albert joked that this is the "first time he’s ever had to ask his daughter for the correct pronunciations for names" (Bergen RECORD, 11/11).
