Dolphins Vice Chair, President & CEO Tom Garfinkel does not see the team increasing its current capacity at Hard Rock Stadium “anytime soon,” according to Hal Habib of the PALM BEACH POST. The team has set capacity at the venue during the pandemic to 20%, which comes out to 13,000 fans. The “closest the Dolphins have come to reaching capacity” was 12,397 for the Nov. 1 game against the Rams, which marked the starting debut of QB Tua Tagovailoa. The Dolphins have “totaled 46,613 fans for four home dates, an average of 11,653.” Garfinkel said, “We’ve been pleased with how fans have respected the protocols and respected each other. It is what we’ve hoped for and expected.” However, with Florida seeing a spike in positive COVID-19 tests, Garfinkel warned that the “potential exists, we’re going to have games with no fans.” Garfinkel: “If we feel like we can continue to put people safely together, socially distanced with masks on, we’ll continue to have the fans” (PALM BEACH POST, 11/11).
SEAHAWKS STILL WITHOUT 12TH MAN: In Seattle, Bob Condotta reports the Seahawks will not allow fans for their next home game Nov. 19 against the Cardinals, but the club now is “making decisions on a game-by-game basis.” There will be three games at CenturyLink Field remaining after the Cardinals game, and officials will “reach out to season-ticket holders if conditions improve and it is determined that it is safe for fans to attend games under a limited capacity in December.” The Seahawks are one of 13 teams not to allow fans for at least one game this season (SEATTLE TIMES, 11/11).
