Rams COO Says Team Hopes To Unveil New Uniform Every Year

Rams COO Kevin Demoff said the team hopes it can "unveil a new uniform every year, either the way we space it out or whether the NFL or Nike changes those rules." Appearing on the team's "Rams Revealed" podcast last week, Demoff said it could be "maybe a little bit of a European soccer model where you come up with that alternate jersey each year." For Demoff, launching a "new brand, new colors, new logos, new uniforms, in a pandemic is sub-optimal." Demoff said when the Rams revealed their new logo and uniforms before the season, "everybody wanted comfort, and you're stuck in your house, everybody's online and there's a lot of angst. It was a big change." He added the change was "one that's designed to appeal to the next generation, to grow a fanbase," and noted making a change "comes with a lot of consternation from people who have been with us for 40, 50 years, and we get that." He said the team "knew that would be the case, but the one thing with all uniforms is your association comes from the memory of people making plays in them." Demoff: "Uniforms are very simple. If you want to get universal praise, just go back to something you've already had. ... Everybody could go back to what they wore in the 70s and 80s, and I think the world would be universally happy. That's not necessarily the approach we took" ("Rams Revealed," 11/6).
