NASCAR Names Wynn Resorts An Official Betting Operator

Wynn Resorts has signed on as an official NASCAR betting operator, announcing the multiyear agreement as part of its plan to offer its new WynnBet sportsbook app in Virginia when the state opens gambling next year. Wynn, the latest major casino brand to enter the sports betting fray, will get access to NASCAR marks and other IP, along with live betting data used to set in-play odds that change as the race unfolds. Offered through Genius Sports, the live data stream also allows for the creation of recently developed bet types. Wynn joins BetMGM and Barstool Sportsbook parent Penn National Gaming as NASCAR official operators. While official data can be a revenue stream for sports with established betting audiences, NASCAR sees it -- and the sportsbooks that offer the new bet-types that come from it -- as a way to grow interest in betting among its fans and increase interest in the sport among casual bettors. “There are sports that are taking mature betting markets and moving them from the illegal market to the legal market. We’re creating one from scratch,” said NASCAR Senior VP & Chief Digital Officer Tim Clark. “Deals like MGM and now Wynn are huge for us. They’re among the most important deals we can make for the sport’s future.”
