New Yahoo Sportsbook Features Should Make For Easier Process

The Yahoo Sportsbook has rolled out two new features designed to enhance the betting experience powered by BetMGM. These include streamlining the registration and onboarding experience between the Yahoo Sports app and BetMGM, and adding player-prop odds to Yahoo Fantasy. Yahoo Sports users now will be able to use their account to register and sign-in to their BetMGM account, enabling them to place bets without having to download the BetMGM app. The other new feature will allow Yahoo Fantasy users in eligible states to see available player-prop odds on the players tab and player card within the Yahoo Fantasy app and several web locations, and place corresponding bets on the BetMGM platform. BetMGM also is introducing unique player-prop odds based on fantasy point totals, leveraging Yahoo’s fantasy scoring system. Yahoo users in New Jersey, Indiana, West Virginia and Colorado can place bets on BetMGM, with additional states to follow. Verizon Media and BetMGM entered into a multiyear strategic relationship in October ’19.

A NEW WORLD: Tuesday’s unveiling of Apple’s new iPhone 12 models with support for 5G could have a significant impact on the U.S. sports betting landscape. 5G could help promote in-game betting through improved connectivity, zero latency and the ability to leverage both to send and receive increased volumes of data. 5G also may impact placing bets while attending live sporting events, as connectivity issues have an impact on players’ current desire to place bets while attending sports events in-person.
