Steelers Ready To Host Fans At Heinz Field For First Time

Points of contact, especially around bathrooms and concessions, will be reduced for fans at Heinz FieldGETTY IMAGES

The Steelers will "allow approximately 5,500 ticket holders to attend Sunday's game" against the Eagles, as fans will be "permitted inside Heinz Field" for the first time this season, according to Joe Rutter of TRIBLIVE.com. No tailgating will be "permitted in the stadium parking lots." Fans are "asked to have their tickets loaded onto their phone or Steelers mobile app before arriving at Heinz Field." Ticket holders within a specific group "must sit together, and fans are encouraged to use the entrance closest to their seating section, which will be marked on tickets" (TRIBLIVE.com, 10/8). In Pittsburgh, Adam Bittner reports alcohol sales will be "limited to contactless food purchases." Bathrooms, likewise, will "largely be touchless, and points of contact throughout the stadium will be reduced" (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 10/9).

FIRST TIME FOR WASHINGTON: In DC, Ryan Homler reported the Washington Football Team for the first time this season "will be playing in front of fans at FedExField on Sunday," as a "limited number of close family members to coaches, players and employees will be in the stands for the matchup against the Rams." A letter sent to season-ticket holders noted that Washington players and staff "made the request to have family members attend." According to the letter, the limited number of family members "must be 'within the same household as a player, coach, or staff member.'" Homler reported attendees will be "separated into socially distanced pods for seating throughout FedExField" (NBCSPORTSWASHINGTON.com, 10/8).
