POSITIVE NEWS: In Boston, Volin & McBride note the latest round of COVID-19 tests for the Patriots "were all negative," marking the second straight day of "all tests being negative" after CB Stephon Gilmore's positive test was revealed Wednesday. The Patriots have "not held in-person practices this week" and their home game against the Broncos was moved from Sunday to Monday. The Patriots will "keep their facilities at Gillette Stadium shut down for a third straight day Friday, but the team hopes to hold a practice Saturday" (BOSTON GLOBE, 10/9). In Denver, Mark Kiszla believes if football is a "brotherhood, the Patriots' brothers here in Denver should refuse to get on the team plane to New England."
