Binge Watching With 49ers VP/Digital & Social Media Meg Ryan

A common thread among Ryan's binge watching favorites: powerful female leadsAustin Ginn/49ers

This week, THE DAILY caught up with 49ers VP/Digital & Social Media MEG RYAN, who also serves as Elevate Sports Ventures VP/Marketing, to break down what's on her watchlist. Some responses have been edited for clarity and brevity:

  • I love "GET ORGANIZED WITH THE HOME EDIT" for a couple of reasons. I'm really passionate about helping support other women creators, and I think this is a great example. These two women have a home organizing business around the country. They do a mix of celebrity homes, and then each episode also features an everyday person.
  • "TASTE THE NATION WITH PADMA LAKSHMI," another powerful female lead, follows her as she explores food across the U.S. The really cool part about this show is she is trying to uncover what is American cuisine. She meets with a lot of immigrant communities across the country and looks at the melting pot that makes up American cuisine.
  • "SELLING SUNSET" features a real estate brokerage based in the Sunset area of L.A., THE OPPENHEIM GROUP. You get a little bit of your gossipy, reality-type show following the romances and cattiness of this group. But I really like to see all of these incredible homes in the area. I love looking at real estate.
  • "THE SOCIAL DILEMMA" is a documentary that examines the realities of social networking with a lot of former Silicon Valley executives. It's a good reminder of the power of these mediums, especially on younger generations, and the societal impact of social media.
  • "GREY'S ANATOMY" has been one of my favorite shows for years. In terms of the character development, the storylines, there's been so much drama and change on that show. But it's comforting to me. I do believe that the upcoming season is going to focus on COVID.
