Jesse Collins Named First Black Exec Producer Of SB Halftime Show

The NFL, Roc Nation and Pepsi announced that Emmy-nominated producer JESSE COLLINS "has been named an executive producer of the Pepsi Super Bowl LV Halftime Show," making him the show’s "first-ever Black executive producer," according to Jem Aswad of VARIETY. Collins "joins executive producers Roc Nation, who debuted in that role earlier this year," and longtime Pepsi halftime Show Dir HAMISH HAMILTON (VARIETY.com, 9/29). In L.A., Laura Zornosa notes from the BET Awards to CBS' "JOHN LEWIS: CELEBRATING A HERO" special, Collins -- alongside his Jesse Collins Entertainment production company -- has "seemingly produced it all." In the past, he has "helped shape stories about the Black experience in America (both scripted and unscripted), including 'THE BOBBY BROWN STORY' and 'REAL HUSBANDS OF HOLLYWOOD.'" Presently, no artists "have been signed for the halftime show during the game" (L.A. TIMES, 9/30).
