FanDuel, Former NFLers Champion Easy Betting In New Campaign

FanDuel as part of a new campaign is "welcoming fans back to the sports they love," while reminding them -- with the help of former NFLer James Harrison, Pro Football HOFer Orlando Pace and former NFL coach Jeff Fisher -- "how easy it is to place a bet," according to Ryan Barwick of ADWEEK. The campaign, created with BBH N.Y., is "expected to run through the entirety of the NFL's regular season." According to advertisement measuring firm iSpot, FanDuel has "spent more than $24 million since Aug. 23 to reach 1.8 billion impressions," although the brand "declined to provide financial information." Barwick reported the first week of NFL action saw FanDuel "nab its biggest week of new registrations across the brand's daily fantasy platform and sports betting products" since '15, with bets placed "up 200% year-over-year." While FanDuel "won’t need to invest as heavily in traditional television as it had in the past, the spending has at least diversified." FanDuel CMO Mike Raffensperger said, "There’s more sophistication in the media mix we use today." He pointed toward "integrated podcasting partnerships" with The Ringer's Bill Simmons and former NFLer-turned media personality Pat McAfee (ADWEEK.com, 9/22).
