The Biden campaign already has “reservations to run at least one ad nationally during each NFL game between now and Election Day,” according to Tamara Keith of NPR.org. Tracking firm Advertising Analytics indicates those prebookings, which go through Week 8 of the NFL season, “add up to $25 million.” Advertising Analytics Dir of Sales John Link: “That is the first time we've seen something of that magnitude." Link “isn't sure whether the Trump campaign will match that,” though he is “expecting it to spend big on ads during football games this fall.” Keith noted the Biden campaign ran a 60-second ad during NBC’s coverage of Texans-Chiefs on Thursday, and while the Trump campaign did not buy a national ad, it “purchased $1.1 million in ads in 21 local TV markets in swing states.” Biden’s campaign also aired “seven different ads in 18 local media markets” on Thursday (NPR.org, 9/13).
