Broncos Outpace Other NFL Teams With Three Sports Betting Deals

The Broncos have taken "advantage of sports gambling becoming legalized in the state of Colorado" on May 1, getting "three deals in the fold before another NFL team had one," according to Ryan O'Halloran of the DENVER POST. The Broncos reached sponsorship deals with FanDuel on June 15, Betfred (June 16) and BetMGM (July 9). Broncos Chief Commercial Officer Mac Freeman: "We benefited from timing and Colorado was an early-mover as a state." Sports gambling currently is legal in 18 states. In May, Colorado's handle was $25.5M, followed by $38.1M in June -- and that was "before MLB and the NHL and NBA returned to play." A rundown on some of the plans for each of the Broncos' new partners:

  • FanDuel’s app is "operational and the company will have signage inside and outside the stadium."
  • Betfred during Broncos games "will have a hospitality tent outside Empower Field at Mile High."
  • BetMGM "will offer the 'First Possession Payoff Game,' and have hospitality offers in conjunction with MGM Resorts" (DENVER POST, 9/7).
