In Gainesville, Robbie Andreu notes capacity for Univ. of Florida football games at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium this fall has been "set at 20%." The stadium's seating capacity is 88,548, which translates to a crowd of around "17,000 for all home games." There will be "no tailgating allowed on campus, no Gator Walk for the players, no cheerleaders on the sidelines, no Gator Fan Fest and the Gator Walk Village will not be set up." All ticketing "will be mobile." Face coverings "will be required in the stadium" and "must be worn throughout the game except during times of eating or drinking." Signage and "enhanced cleaning procedures" will be featured throughout the stadium, including at concession stands, and physical distancing "will be required when entering and exiting" (GAINESVILLE SUN, 9/4).
ATTENDANCE APPROVED: Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has "approved a plan for Louisville football fans to attend games at Cardinal Stadium this year, but cut the number" originally proposed by the school. Beshear said that the plan is for "20% capacity, which will bring in just over 12,000 fans." In Louisville, Cameron Teague Robinson notes UL's original plan "was for 30% capacity." With its initial plan, UL was expecting a $10M "shortfall in its budget due to ticketing cutbacks," but that number "may increase with the latest reductions" (Louisville COURIER-JOURNAL, 9/4).
GOING TOUCHLESS: In Tulsa, Eric Bailey notes the Univ. of Oklahoma has been "exploring ways to increase the number of touchless services." The SoonerSports2Go app will be used for "everything from parking to digital ticketing to ordering concession food at designated stations." A 100% cashless experience "will be in place" for food, beverage and retail. Meanwhile, Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium's seating capacity will be "approximately 20,300 in the seating bowl and approximately 2,400 in suites and loges." Masks will be "required by all fans on campus and in Memorial Stadium," and there will be "no tailgating allowed on OU campus grounds and parking areas" (TULSA WORLD, 9/4).
