NFL Teams Get In On Cutout Craze With Most Fans Barred In Week 1

The Ravens are "offering a COVID-19-friendly alternative: chloroplast cutouts," with fans barred from M&T Bank Stadium for at least the initial part of the season, according to Jonas Shaffer of the BALTIMORE SUN. Fans "can purchase 18-by-34-inch cutouts of themselves, to be placed in the end zones of the stadium's lower seating bowl for as long as the venue remains closed to fans." All proceeds "will benefit the Ravens Foundation nonprofit and its support of local coronavirus relief efforts." Cutouts "will be available for purchase for $55 (general public) and $45 (permanent-seat-license owners)" (BALTIMORE SUN, 9/1). Meanwhile, in S.F., Branch & Kroichick note 49ers fans also "can purchase cutouts of themselves that will be placed on a seat behind one of the end zones at Levi's Stadium this season." The cutouts cost $149, with proceeds "benefiting the 49ers foundation and other team-related charitable programs." Fans cannot attend the team's season opener, and "no decision has been made about fans attending their final seven regular-season home games" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 9/1). In Philadelphia, John George reports the Eagles also will "have cutouts in the stands" at Lincoln Financial Field. The cost for season ticket holders "will be $100 each, with net proceeds benefiting the Eagles Autism Foundation" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 9/1).
