Two "new voters were added" to the Pro Football HOF selection panel: HOFer BILL POLIAN and ESPN's LISA SALTERS. Meanwhile, the HOF announced that there will be separate categories for "one coach finalist, one senior finalist and one contributor finalist" through the selection of the class of '24. Coach, senior and contributor candidates "will be considered by special committees in virtual meetings" (AP, 8/7). The additions of Polian and Salters come after the Pro Football HOF "retired two very good veteran selectors last week," IRA MILLER and VITO STELLINO. NBCSPORTS' Peter King writes, "Welcome to new selectors Bill Polian and Lisa Salters. I know Polian and know he’ll work hard and be an asset. I do not know Salters but I’m sure she’ll be excellent too" (NBCSPORTS.com, 8/10). 

DEPAUL AD SEARCH HEATS UP: Kentucky Deputy AD DEWAYNE PEEVY has "interviewed for DePaul’s athletic director opening," according to a source. Peevy, who has been at Kentucky for 12 years, was a "finalist for the same role" in '15 at UCF. A source said that Northwestern’s MIKE POLISKY and Loyola’s STEVE WATSON also are "two candidates that DePaul is looking to interview." Watson said that he is "not a candidate for the job at DePaul" (THE DEPAULIA, 8/7). 

NAMES: 49ers Chief Administrative Officer & General Counsel HANNAH GORDON was named to the Silicon Valley Business Journal's "40 Under 40" class of '20. Gordon when asked what her best career move was said, "Listening to the advice to learn to delegate" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/7)....Lions DE TREY FLOWERS on Saturday "hosted a Zoom video conference for the four inaugural winners of his Flowers of the Future Foundation scholarships." Two graduating high school seniors from the Huntsville, Ala., area "received $1,000 scholarships to help defray their college costs, and two current college students received $1,500 awards" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 8/10)....CONOR MCGREGOR on Saturday announced his "engagement to his long-time partner" DEE DEVLIN (N.Y POST, 8/9). 

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth.
