PGA Of America Re-Ups With Sponsor National Car Rental

The PGA of America and National Car Rental extended and expanded their multiyear sponsorship deal ahead of this week's PGA Championship, with National branding to be featured prominently throughout the tournament broadcasts from TPC Harding Park as part of the PGA of America’s new on-course signage platform. Coverage will appear on ESPN platforms, CBS and PGA.com. National also retains its status as the official rental car of the PGA of America, PGA Championship, Ryder Cup USA, KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship and National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship, with plans to activate around all these events. In addition, the company will continue to be prominently involved in the PGA Jr. League. National Car Rental first signed with the PGA in '12 and renewed for five years in '15.

BETTING SPACE: Meanwhile, the PGA Tour has signed BetMGM to a multiyear content and marketing deal that designates it as an official betting operator. This is a quickly expanding sector for the Tour, which last week named DraftKings its first official betting operator. BetMGM will have rights in the U.S. to use PGA Tour marks and advertise within Tour media/partner platforms. Also, content and video rights will allow BetMGM Sportsbook platforms to create pre- and postgame betting programming, as well as distribute highlights to users who have placed bets. BetMGM’s parent company, Roar Digital, has existing sponsor relationships with several pro golfers including Max Homa, Jimmy Walker, Kevin Na, Pat Perez and Boo Weekley. BetMGM is licensed for sports betting in seven states and plans to be in 11 states by the end of '20.
